Dr. Charlene Brown

Meet .

Dr. Charlene R. Brown, DDS is a native New Orleanian but calls Atlanta, Georgia home. A proud Florida A&M “Rattler” and alum, Dr. Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration in 2003. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, Dr. Brown was a successful business management consultant working for top Fortune 500 consulting firms, such as Accenture and Deloitte Consulting, LLC. However, in 2009, she decided to answer a deeper calling and pursue her dream of becoming a General Dentist. After finishing the necessary coursework, Dr. Brown attended Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana where she earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery in May of 2015. Never satisfied with being average, Dr. Brown excelled at LSU and was awarded the “Outstanding Student Award” by Dental Lifeline Network’s Brian D. Stone. Charlene was also selected as LSU’s 2015 representative for the American Dental Education Association pre-dental brochure.

In her free time, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with family and friends, immersing herself in an interesting book, engaging in health and fitness activities, such as jogging and yoga and learning about and developing new hobbies.

Giving Back

Dr. Brown has always prioritized giving back to her community and “paying it forward.” For as long as she can recall, Dr. Brown has always felt a strong sense of duty to serve her community. One of her favorite quotes is by renowned author Maya Angelou, “…you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.” Prior to dental school, Dr. Brown spent over 100 hours volunteering at both Good Samaritan health clinic and Ben Massell Dental Clinic in Atlanta, GA. At these clinics, she worked with underserved individuals who had limited or no access to dental health care. Because of her many community service efforts, Dr. Brown earned The American Association of Public Health Dentistry’s Community Outreach award in 2015. Additionally, Dr. Brown has been involved with the Thomas P. Hinman society, and served as a panelist for the annual “Women in Dentistry” session and as both a participant and contributor to Georgia’s “Diversity in Dentistry” group, of which she has been involved since 2009.
