On April 24th per signed executive order from Governor Kemp, the state of Georgia began easing the restrictions on social distancing and stay at home orders with a gradual return to business as usual. While some businesses, have moved forward with opening, Brookhaven Dental Group is not yet providing the full scope of services.

We will continue to provide treatment limited to emergencies and urgent care until May 14th – hygiene and non-essential treatment will resume at that time. While we are proceeding with cautious optimism, this date and the scope of services are subject to change considering the evolution of the virus and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and American Dental Association.

Prior to this pandemic, this is not the first virus that we mitigate everyday. However, we recognize the severity of community transmission of COVID-19 and will do our part in reducing any exposure to our patients and our team. As such, the precautions that we are taking to protect you are as follows:

  • Disinfect common surfaces after each patient
  • Installed air purifiers in each room to capture any aerosol
  • Pre-procedural rinse of hydrogen peroxide for 45 sec prior to any procedure
  • Limited scheduling to ensure that no one is waiting in waiting room
  • Screening and evaluating of team and patients for signs of illness
  • Reviewing and signing of COVID-19 screening form pre-procedure
  • Usage of no-contact thermometer on all patients and employees upon arrival
  • Washing hands upon arrival for all team and patients
  • Removal of beverage station and all magazines from rooms and waiting area
  • Masks and shields worn by all team personnel
  • Multi-step sterilization of instruments
  • Usage of disposable barriers in high-touch areas, changed after each patient
  • Professional cleaning company for weekly deep clean

These past six weeks of social distancing and quarantining amid the global coronavirus pandemic have been a peaceful interruption or minor inconvenience for some; while others have experienced tragedy. My sincerest condolences go out to those of you who have experienced a loss of any kind during this time. While we continue to take things day by day, I encourage you to take care of yourself and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Be well,

Dr. Brown
